Frequently asked questions
What do I need to use Hearing Health?
An iPhone running iOS 18 or later, plus results from Apple’s hearing test. The hearing test requires AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods Pro 3.
The app says it can’t find any hearing test results.
First, confirm your results are in the Health app under Browse → Hearing → Audiogram. Then check Hearing Health’s permission in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Hearing Health and turn on Audiogram.
iOS doesn’t tell apps when read access is turned off, so a missing permission and a missing test look the same to the app. Checking both places resolves almost every case.
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. Your audiograms stay in Apple Health, and anything you enter in My Profile stays in the app’s local storage. We run no servers and can’t see your data. Details are in the privacy policy.
Is Hearing Health a medical device? Does it diagnose hearing loss?
No. Hearing Health is an educational tool. It explains what your test results typically mean in plain language, but it doesn’t diagnose any condition or recommend treatment. For a clinical assessment, see a licensed audiologist or physician.
Will my provider accept the PDF report?
The report presents your Apple hearing test results in a standard clinical audiogram format, and many providers can use it as a starting point. Whether a provider, insurer, or seller accepts it is their decision. The report covers air-conduction results only.
Does the app recommend specific hearing aids or sellers?
No. The Find Hearing Aids screen describes the main ways people get hearing aids and lists examples under each. There is no paid or sponsored placement, and we receive nothing from any listed company.
How do I opt out of arbitration?
The Terms of Service require disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration (Section 12). You can opt out by mailing a signed written notice, marked “Arbitration Opt-Out” and postmarked within 30 days of first accepting the Terms, to Confluence Works LLC, 228 Park Ave S, PMB 803797, New York, NY 10003-1502. Include your name and say that you are opting out. Each notice must be signed by the person opting out and cover only that person. Opt-outs sent by email are not effective (see Section 12.7 of the Terms).
Opting out doesn’t affect your use of the app.
How do I delete my information?
Edit or clear your details in My Profile, or delete the app to remove its local data entirely. Your audiograms remain in Apple Health, where you control them.
